This wiki is jointly run by the net tutors to help you set up your internet connection.

If you have any questions or need support, please do not hesitate to contact the lan-tutors of your residence. For concerns that do not concern the internet, the accommodationservice of your residence is at your disposal.

All lan-tutors are fellow tenants of residence who have agreed to help you with any problems that may arise. Please note that this system is based on a voluntary basis. We therefore ask for your understanding if the tutors are not available around the clock, especially at weekends. They are all students themselves and therefore have student obligations that they have to fulfil.

The studierendenwerk provides one LAN socket per room to which you can connect an internet-capable device with a LAN cable. Each room is assigned a specific configuration, which is sent to you by e-mail. In addition to the configuration data, receipt of this e-mail means that your connection has been activated. If you have not received this e-mail, please contact the responsible lan-tutors.
Note: If you are writing from an e-mail address other than the one you registered with the studierendenwerk, or if you are subletting a room, please attach a scan of your signed rental contract. The connection can only be activated after your move-in has been checked (in no case before you move in!).

In principle, it is possible to connect a computer directly to the port. However, the studierendenwerk recommends that you purchase a NAT-capable router in order to be able to use WLAN. It is important to note that if you want to change the device later on, it is necessary to contact the network tutors (see here).
Please note that hotspots or similar solutions do not work.

When you moved in, you signed that you took note of them. Please read them carefully. Violation may result in connection blocking if detected.
